Daikin was founded by Akira Yamada in October 1924 at Osaka, Japan. We now have more than 50,000 employees working hand in hand in 209 consolidated subsidiaries worldwide. Daikin began in manufacturing radiator tubes that cooled airplane engines. It was also the first company in Japan to develop fluorocarbon refrigerant and commercial air conditioners. Business expanded, and the company became a comprehensive air conditioning company in the world market.
In 1982, Daikin introduced the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology in Japan. Since then, it has been the most widely used air conditioning system for every application all over the world.Accompanying the abolishment of all HCFC refrigerants having ozone depletion potential, the focus has become what refrigerant to adopt. The basic approach of Daikin is one that selects the optimum refrigerant by the right materials for the right applications according to use. We have determined that HFC32 is currently the most suitable refrigerant for residential and commercial applications.
In the 1980’s, Daikin pioneered the introduction of VRV systems in the Philippine market in partnership with Alenaire Airconditioning. Daikin reentered the Philippine market in June 2009 as a fully owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd. In 2014, Daikin launched the first Residential units utilizing the R32 Refrigerant with the Inverter Technology. Being eco-friendly and having high energy savings, these units are superb among its kind.
Our goal is to realize air conditioning solutions for all types of needs such as those for energy-savings,environment, comfort, peace-of-mind, safety, and health. From residential, to commercial, and uptoIndustrial type air conditioning, Daikin is committed to provide the latest innovations and technologiesfor everyone’s needs and comfort.
Daikin launches new VRV units
Daikin, the pioneer in the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology now launches its newest model, the VRV IV-S. The new and improved series comes with higher capacity outdoor units, more connectable indoor units, more compact and lightweight outdoor units, and more types of indoor units to choose from.
The new system is now available in 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9HP outdoor units and can connect up to 14 indoor units. Higher capacities and more connectable indoor units means we could use these units on more applications efficiently.
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Energy
The Philippines is currently one of the countries with the highestcosts of electricity in the world. And having more equipment operating means more electricity consumption, hence higher expenses for the users. Therefore having energy efficient equipment would be very beneficial to all consumers. Having this in mind, Daikin launches the VRV Heat recovery system which can reuseenergy and maximize the electrical energy consumed.
Daikin’s VRV Heat Recovery System recovers waste heat from the condensing unit to be used to heat water with the aide of our state-of-the-art Serpentine Heat Exchanger. Essentially, no energy is consumed for heating the water, except for the electrical energy consumed for the circulating pipe. Unlike the conventional electric heater, the heating element consumes high electric energy for heating. One kilowatt (1 kW) of electric power input produces only onekilowatt (1 kW) of electrical heating. This additional power consumption is eliminated with the heat recovery technology introduced by Daikin.
Smaller needs for smaller spaces
With the current growth of the condominium market in the Philippines, more and more people tend to purchase one unit either for their own use or for investment. With the comfort of a friendly neighborhood and the perks of city living, condominium projects are strategically planned to cater every market.
Despite the relatively smaller floor area compared to a single detached house, young professionals today prefer condominiums for the luxury and convenience it brings to them. At this rate, more than 400,000 units of Window type Airconditioners are sold each year to cater this market. With this, Daikin launches our smaller capacity units of 0.5HP and 0.8HP. With these new units, one can have the benefits and advantages of a split type unit but with a lower initial cost. Utilizing the new refrigerant, R32 and Daikin’s Inverter technology, these new units may be small in capacity but still big in features and big in energy savings.
