The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) had a special bell-ringing ceremony last Wednesday to raise awareness on gender equality.
PSE was one of over 60 exchanges that participated in this global initiative that calls on the private sector to advance gender equality and women empowerment.
“We acknowledge that we need to do more to see more women take on important roles in companies, including listed firms. We hope that by ringing the bell for gender equality, we can encourage more companies and organizations to revisit their stance on gender equality and adopt gender equality policies and programs,” said PSE Chairman Jose T. Pardo in his welcome remarks during the bell-ringing event.
The special bell-ringing ceremony was attended by PSE Directors and Management Committee members and officers of various women organizations.
The “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” program is organized by the Sustainable Stock Exchanges, UN Global Compact, UN Women, Internal Finance Corporation (IFC), Women in ETFs and the World Federation of Exchanges.
